Something to read if you are considering TT - conclusion

A previous thread on here that was locked has had a conclusion (or will have when TalkTalk send out the compensation cheque):

Conclusion:

TT have admitted they didn't keep my information safe and that due to a system issue, my account was somehow combined with another account.
TT have also admitted failing to follow industry guidelines and terminating my account without warning.

TT paid me a small sum in compensation and was asked to update their systems.

I am still waiting for the cheque!

While its a shocking story, it could happen to any customer at any ISP. Once upon a time IDNET screwed me for £600 in unfair charges but I didn't deem it necessary to start a 50 page thread spitting and cursing IDNET.

All ISPs get things wrong - it's how they respond that matters. Did you have as much trouble with IDNET as this story?

I'm curious - you come across as a seriously dedicated PlusNet fanboy - but why do you seem to take such an interest in spreading bad news about TalkTalk ?

Spread good news about PlusNet if you think it worthwhile - but why so negative about an ISP that you don't appear to have ever taken a service from and therefore probably can't talk about first hand - just one sided second hand reports of other people's problems.

Credibility becomes questionable.

TT are Ok, I manage my mothers phone and broadband, it simply works for her, I have little to do, not even change router it just synced and off it went for the last 8months.

The only gripe was signing up to their unlimited package, browsing the account i noticed it was on 40gb limit and had to tick box to be unlimited.

Dedicated Plusnet fanboy? Have a full read of this topic and decide if your comment was fair.

If the comments posted are one sided it's open for TT to post with their side of the story!

But what are you trying to achieve by posting threads like these? Hoping potential TT customers join plusnet instead? Perhaps I should start trolling the plusnet boards using an example of an unhappy plusnet customer? Jeez...

From reading on here and on the Plusnet forums it appears that the OP currently seems to have their own mega problems with plusnet at the moment.......so I think that it is unlikely they would be actively encouraging anyone to join them just at this point.

In that case he/she get his own issues resolved first before fighting other people's battles.

So after over 10 years you have had a problem. But your problem is with PlusNet. So maybe my comment should be "someone with a strong track record of being a fanboy".

So I'm still curious as to why you feel the need to highlight the problems of someone you (more than likely) don't know, is having with an ISP with which you have no practical experience and of who(m) you have never been a customer.

And why should TalkTalk defend themselves against something an unhappy ex-customer says about them on another ISP's forums. Most people already know how to put those sorts of comments in context, and apply the appropriate amounts of salt.
