Is my exchange talk talk enabled or not?

I've been looking around to switch from BT. I am on a market 1 exchange, LCLAM (Lamplugh), in Cumbria. But when I put my phone number into the talk talk website it gives an estimated speed of 7.9meg and plus tv broadband and phone is available.

All very weird as I thought we were still 20CN here.

Anyone know what gives. Sam knows says only BT is at home in our exchange but TT orders on the website seem to indicate they are lodging there too! But all the resellers websites come back no for my phone number.

If anyone can give me a definitive answer i'd be grateful.

Seems to show an ADSL2+ speed test result, i.e those results not possible on 20CN.

TalkTalk does have 96% of the population covered with its ADSL2+ network. So it is possible that its only been done in the last couple of months (the speed test is a maximum of 4 months old)

I had xilo in the past and would definitely consider them again.

I have a sync of 8128 fast with snr about 9db but downstream speed in the evening slows to under 2meg regularly making iplayer and Netflix a frustrating experience. I think there is quite a lot of contention at play. An llu connection on such a small exchange may be a better bet.

i had 8128/832 on a village exchange back in 2007, but this was with "priority at the exchange". Speeds were 6900 almost always.

I was wondering if you could get a BT re-seller that gives this extra "priority" which might help with the peak slow-downs.

Signed with AAISP and yes the exchange is TT enabled as that's where my service will come from.
