You bet !
Gone to ZEN on 11 Dec. Still on ADSL but soon upgrading to FTTC. I know its early days, but the difference is significant.
My ADSL with Zen is very very stable, min latency with ZEN is consistently below 20ms, TT was 35ms and rising week by week by stealth ! ADSL Speed with ZEN was advertised as 14mbps I am getting 19.8 mbps, Talk Talk was on average 15mbps but fluctuated wildly between 8 and 17mbps.
And the best is the ZEN customer service. Ring and straight through and the person at the other end has 100% of your information to hand. Communication and delivery of the changeover was flawless.
Yes it it more expensive, but value for money.

I was fearing your experience when I joined TalkTalk. In reality I'm getting 16ms pings to BBC, and throughput 85% of synch speed, all day every day. I'm crossing my fingers crossed it stays this way.
On the downside, a few days after I joined, line rental went up by 75p and anytime calls went up by £2.50 (albeit now including calls to mobiles), which stings a little.

On the plus side, you can use the TalkTalk Talk2Go app on your smartphone to call mobiles free of charge, via wifi or 3G. Works brilliantly on my iphone 6 (i'm using the business version app as i'm on TTB)

To put the boot on the other foot, i was with Zen many moons ago and my line synced at the max 8128/832 kbps rate. I used to get full line speeds (7 meg) during the day but come evening my speeds would drop to 2 meg. Nothing Zen could do as i was on piddly market 1 exchange in the Scottish Highlands where everyone suffered peak time slowdowns irrespective of ISP. As soon as TalkTalk LLU'd my exchange my speeds shot up to 18 meg day & night and up to this day, BT still haven't 21CN'd my clapped out, flea ridden exchange. Does that mean TalkTalk are better than Zen?

Your experience echoes mine. Talk Talk "support" drove me away in total despair, joined Zen on the grounds of the monthly rolling contract so could always quickly leave. Zen support has been a revelation, they could not have been more helpful and kept me updated every day (sometimes more often if necessary) by both email and/or phone. The line has now been sorted thanks to their persistence and many engineer visits at their behest. Oh and I get slightly better speeds too, in my experience their support is well worth the extra money.
Hopefully sometime in the new year native FTTP may be available so that means a choice of BT and the "joys" of Indian call centres again or a bit more money for Zen, I know which one I will opt for.....

Yeah, that is nice. But then again if you have a mobile plan for data you generally have inclusive minutes too, and if like me you're on PAYG then free wifi hotspots aren't always around when you need them.

talk talk was a nightmare for me also... I do miss the "if you cannot understand me just say so and I will be happy to repeat what I have said" from the call centre staff, oh and the "but I am sure everything will be very well tomorrow"

Been with TalkTalk for 6 years now. Not much choice really as they are the only LLU supplier in my rural area. Never had an outage and get around 19.5 meg which I consider pretty good.
Granted the TT support line seems to be pretty awful, though I've never had to use them. An ex colleague of mine retired to Stornaway and worked in their support centre for a while in third level support. He got fed up with the lack of challenging work after four months and reverted to full-time retirement.
The TT user forums seem pretty responsive.

Responsive in that they tend to respond. But response time is typically 2 working days, so it wouldn't be an ideal medium to report, say, a dead phone line.
