Talk Talk Business Speedtest

I need to escape from BT Infinity and am looking for a new FTTC provider.

TTB seems to be quite well thought of, and they have their Talk2Go App which is quite useful to me (I use the BT equivalent a lot).

However, if I run a TTB Speedtest, I get 25/5, and I currently get 40/9 from BT, which is pretty much the maximum capability of my line. My exchange is Brookwood, which is TT enabled.

I'm curious as to why the two are different, considering it's exactly the same cabling.

Presumably the "speedtest" you mention is from the BT estimate database?

This is often wrong. For example, my line is estimated at 2�5 Mb/s, whereas I can reliably sync at 14+ with TTB, via Pulse8.

I'm guessing you ran the speed checker on TTB's website, if true then i wouldn't worry too much as TTB tend to be very conservative with their estimates. The BT checker will give you a much more realistic estimate:

I find the Talk2Go app excellent on TTB, you can register up to 5 mobiles on your account so you can let family/friends use your landline calling plan on their mobile, especially useful when abroad as it means all registered users can make unlimited calls to UK landlines & mobiles if on the 'complete' package. You can make calls over mobile data or wifi and no need for a vpn if abroad.

Interesting .... the speed test on the new look TTB website is now much more accurate and inline with what I am receiving.

So did you migrate over to TTB?

Same for me. They were showing my speeds as 50-80 and 12-20 but now I get this ( as well as a speed guarantee which was not there the other day) I get 80/20
