S.N.R.M. INCREASE

I have a very long >6Km E.O. line.

In order to try to provide a reasonable working speed, I was placed on a fixed 6dB S.N.R.M.
with interleaving on.

I could manage the occasional disconnects, no problem.

I now find that I have a 9dB S.N.R.M.which gives me a synch. speed of 1024Kbs.

T.T. inform me that they can no longer change the speed, and that the line profile is done automatically by B.T.

Is there any way of overriding the 9dB profile?

Is this a full LLU Talk Talk line, as in they provide the voice service also ?

If so then the CS staff were telling porkies, only TalkTalk can change the profiles on their kit.

I guess this also means TT can no longer switch off the DLM if requested. It seems line management is 100% automated now.

Most nights I suffer from spells of some form of interference/crosstalk/?

I use a 2Wire HG-B router, that can "hang on" to a poor signal.

Unfortunately, it now seems that DLM will increase SNRM, and give me an almost unusable speed.

Are there any plans for FTTC/P in your area? EO lines are being slowly upgraded albeit mainly under the BDUK scheme, with priority being given to cases like yours where EO lines are a long way from the exchange hence poor speeds on adsl1/adsl2+.

No plans at the mo. my M.P. is/was involved. Could be a very long wait.
