Hi All
I am trying to maximise traffic shaping using Smart Queue Management (SQM) on OpenWRT. So far I've got really good results with minimising Bufferbloat.
One very important setting is the per-packet overhead (in Bytes). To make sure I am not wasting any bandwidth, I would need to understand what's the per-packet overhead on TalkTalk FTTC.
On TalkTalk, my Vigor 130 connects through MPoA and not PPPoE. I have tried to look around the internet to see what overheads are added to the packet in this type of connection but I can't find any concrete information.
Would someone know by any chance any useful resources/information on this?
For the record, MTU is set to 1500 on the Vigor 130 and my Linksys WRT1900ACS router. I also verified that the 1500 MUT is being used by running:
ping -D -s 1472 yahoo.com
It successfully sends the packet with no fragmentation.
Thanks in advance for your help!
