How early are routers sent?

I'm moving into a new property and I'm going to take TalkTalk broadband there.

I'm going to move around the 5th or 6th November and would ideally like to have a working service from the day I move in.

My question is how early do TalkTalk send the router out?

My worry is that if I order it too early and the router is sent out it might end up with the current residents.

My tenancy is due to begin on the 31st October so they would've moved out by then.

Does anyone have any advice on when I should order my new service?

Best thing would be to go on the TalkTalk Community Forums and ask the question there. The TT OCE's (the TT technical staff) will be able to give you an "official" response.

Just to let you know the OCE's don't work weekends, they have a few community stars (sic) manning the forum at the weekend and they know their stuff they can also flag your question up so its picked up much quicker by the OCE's when they are back on Monday.

My talktalk router arrived the morning at around 10am of the activation. Line switched around 6pm...
I was worrying I�d not have the router in time!

My service started this week on Wednesday.
I received my router on the Saturday prior - it was sent Friday (so 5 days before my service went live)

The latest TT router (homehub?) is a big old beast, only t'other day I stood my old 10" netbook next to it, and they are same size!

I have just measured mine and its 26cm x 17cm as you say a big old beast, i agree with ukhardy07 the Wi-fi is much better than when i was using both the HG633 & D-Link DSL 3782.
