Your average Joe Bloggs will buy broadband based on the speed & cost offered to them. Most couldn’t care less (and won’t have the foggiest) what technology the service is delivered over. Was your friend not provided with estimated line speeds by TT before clicking ‘order’?

She has no idea what so ever about line speeds and what it means. I just wonder how many other people don't realise they can get faster speeds.

'Fast Broadband' ADSL.
'Faster Fibre' up to 38Mb FTTC.
'Superfast Fibre' up to 76Mb FTTC

I know this, you know this, but she would not have a clue, her son did it all the last time.

Anyway, sorted now or will be once it all comes together and then get her little Android box up and running with some apps so she can watch some stuff on her TV instead of her tablet, not that she could watch much on what she had broadband wise

those little Android boxes are ok for the price

My local car showroom always points out what deals they have got on more expensive models should I want to upgrade.to one of them.

Maybe not a merc, but I expect they will try to get people to look at other cars. The difference in price between a mini and a Merc would be a fair bit.
A friend of mine went to look at a EV, a Kia, and she was shown around to see what else was available, she ended up buying nothing as she did not like the feel of a E.V.

Anyway, the good thing is Talk Talk have emailed my friend and apologised for not being able to provide her with the service up to the job and have refunded her £25. so that is good of them.
Her fibre should be up and running by next Thursday. Thankfully it is only a plug in and I can talk her through that if need be and a network password change.
Then when we have the time i can go down and sort out her Android box.,
