SD Card speeds $ Cost

[link to this post]

Hi,

I was wondering what the speed of an sd card is in MB. So eg. a card that is 50x or 66x speed, what is that in megabyte?

Thanks

MegaBytes per weekend??

I believe they relate to CD speed equivalents. Try looking on the Sandisk or Lexar sites.

I've just pulled out a Lexar infor leaflet and they refer to 1x as 150 KB/sec to 66x will be 10MB/sec

They'll be this price or lower until
  • They stop making them
  • A factory you've never heard of burns down/is subject to an earthquake

Partly excess production capacity in the industry and partly economies of scale.

Huge demand. They've been dropping at this rate for 3 years now, so it's nothing new.

Forgot 1gb cards btw, 2gb cards cost barely more. Even 4gb can be had for
