Hello again. You may remember me. I posted a query regarding 'lost packets' a few weeks ago.
Unfortunately, the saga continues. I have now been assigned a techie in BTw to look at the problem. He's monitoring the line, and has acknowledged that there is a problem, but can't or won't say what.
Since my last post, they have fitted an RF3 filter, to stop RF interferance. They have swapped my line from the pole to 'green box' with some other unsuspecting customer, but still I get the problems. Browser locks up, pages don't display. I'm also losing the 'internet' light on my router when it locks up. It's intermittent, but happens on a daily basis.
The guy from BTw wants to get the SFI team on to the case, but reckons it's extremely difficult to do so. They want to see blood before they get involved. Any idea what these guys can do, over and above what the OpenReach guys have done so far?
He reckons the internet light goes out because I'm not getting a reponse (i.e. packet loss). Does this sound feasible?
Thanks
Dave
