ALthough my question relates to SkyBB because of its technical nature I thought it would be best to post here.
I have to decide whether I go for the MID or MAX package. My line stats and my typical usage would suggest the MID package is for me.
However, I have heard that the MID package is ADSL2 whereas the MAX package is ADSL2+ - is this true?
I've also read that ADSL2 is fixed rate (established when the router initialises) whereas ADSL2+ is adaptive rate (like MaxDSL). Is this true?
My reason for asking is a concern over line stability.
I have read that if the line quality fluctuates then then ADSL2 will disconnect and reconnect at a lower speed, whereas the ADSL2+ connection will stay up and just adapt to a lower speed. Is this correct?
You see, whilst I don't (or can't get) the majority of benefits of the MAX product I might be prepared to pay extra for improved stability.
Hope you can help.
Thanks,
Nigel
