Hi Guys
I keep getting this error message when trying to log on to tiscali broadband, everything was fine until last week when I couldn't log on. I have a 3com office router, was fine, no problems, was on the internet last week then pages started to load slow, I just thought that it was busy so gave up and then went on later, no page loading this time, thought the network must be down so left it for a day and same thing happened, page could not be displayed, line was synching ok but not online so I decided to try my sagem 800 that i got at first with tiscali, again, synchs ok, but when I try to log on i get error 691 invalid username or password when they are correct, tiscali help desk is about as much use as a 1 legged man at an a*se kickin contest, they just keep telling me that my connection on windows is corrupt so delete and do it again, no joy, they just keep telling me this and saying i must be typing it in wrong, no, i am on dial up at the moment and can log into my email ok using same email and password that should get me on the net, i have even tried changing my password but again, error 691, i have contacted BT and they say there is no prblem with the local exchange, the fault must lie with tiscali, I have tried 3 different modems, router, sagem, and a friends bt voyager, no luck, tiscali won't accept there is an authentication failure on my line and I'm at a loss, wonder if anyone has come across it before and has any idea how to rectify the problem
