Lag during online gaming

I recently migrated to NewNet (last Friday) and all was well for the first couple of days, but I have suddenly started to experience crippling lag when I play multi-player games online. I have run the speedtest just now and got these results:

Downstream 3,139.0 Kbps ( = 3.1 Mbps )
Upstream 374.5 Kbps ( = 0.4 Mbps )

so my connection is well within reasonable limits.

My router is synced up with these settings:

Status: Up
Downstream Rate: 8032 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 Kbps
Encapsulation: RFC 2364 PPPoA
VPI: 0
VCI: 38
Multiplexing: VC

I'm a bit peeved, as I could play online fine when I was with F2S

Has anyone got any advice?

Could you post a traceroute to the server in question, I am with the same ISP, and I could see if it does the same from here.
