Is this an ISP problem?

[link to this post]

Hi
I was with IDnet and everything was fine (8mb max)
I am now with Zen (8mb Max) everything was fine until recently)

I have an old Alcatel modem that has the software with 2 green/yellow/red lights for connected/connecting/disconnected.

Every so often now (a few times a night) the lights will go red and then yellow/green whiel the modem reconnects my conenction.

During thsi time all the downloads stop (obviously as there is no connection) but my dial up conenction doesn't disconnect - it just carries on)

Is this an ISP problem or a line connection? Bearing in mind that it has been fine for ages on this ISP and the last.

More than likely a line problem, but we need stats to diagnose, check out DSL Zone router stats page and post your stats here.

Impossible to tell much from those stats, but as the modem is 4 years old and from the early(ish) days of ADSL, it might be time to invest

I have a router stashed away from my foray (failed) into Linux.

Are there any PCI modems out there still? I can do without the clutter.
