[link to this post]

I received a reply back from be customer support, they state the modulation should be: G.dmt 992.5 Annex A I can only see gG.gmt on my router set up page is this the same? Ive been told also that adsl2+is g.dmt is this information correct? which setting should I use to conect to the be network please
Thanks

Lee

Thank you for your enquiry. These are the settings, which you need to use if you are using your own modem:
1) dhcp modem should be enabled, modem should be in dynamic mode.
2) vci=101 vpi=0
3) rfc 1483 bridging should enabled

4) When configuring the WAN, member would get an option asking whether your ISP authenticates with user/pass or not
You have to choose no in there.
5) Connection is IPoEoATM
6) Encapsulation: LLC based
7) Modulation: G.dmt 992.5 Annex A

G992.5 or ADSL2+ is what they're suggesting you use.

G.dmt is likely to be plain G992.1 ADSL

don't they supply the router ? try the Be forum section.

G.DMT refers to plain old ADSL (G992.1)
ADSL2+ is G992.5

G.dmt and in fact G992.1 both refer to ADSL, or sometimes ADSL1 to distinguish from later versions. The reason for the different terms is that ADSL originally had variants, G.dmt and G.cap, based on alternative technologies DMT and CAP. However DMT became the preferred technology. G.992.1 is the reference code for the official ITU-T standard for the G.dmt variant.

The equivalent terms for ADSL2+ are G.dmt.bisplus and G.992.5.

Annex A just means that this is a basic implementation using an ordinary phone line, as opposed to Annex B which is for ISDN lines, and a number of other Annex extensions for special purposes.

As always you can find more detail on Wikipedia, here for example.

As you didn't read the last answer you aren't getting another.
