Non-NTE5 BT Master socket - will BT upgrade it?

[link to this post]

I have a BT old style non-NTE5 BT Master socket, off which comes two extension spurs. One of these spurs effectively ends in extension faceplate and I sue microfilter for the broadband connection but not the phone. I have BT ADLS enabled line and am with Zen and just upgraded to Max so I a wondering about improving the wiring.

Q1: Will BT charge for upgrading the very old socket for NTE5? Does anybody have any idea of cost?
Q2: If I do have to pay for upgrade can BT fit a NTE5 BT Master socket with inbuilt filter so that the one extension then will just carry ADLS (not voice) and I will not need filter around the house and may have a better wiring? Is this a lot more expensive?

thanks

You've got it the wrong way around - phones need filters. The ADSL output on a filtered faceplate is un-filtered, so you're not going to gain anything unless you have long extension wiring on the phone side. The ADSL side will still be picking up noise, though. Better to connect the ADSL modem as close as possible to the master, then run Cat5 cable to the PC.
