connection crisis - please advise

[link to this post]

Hi

This is problem:

I have a BT router.

The connection is always excellent. My flatmates laptops (another 2) have no problems with the broadband connection.

I do though.

In any given 10 minute period online, pages won't be found, skype will disconnect, nothing loads, nothing can be done. Then, after about 3 minutes, things will be fine. Then they won't, and so on.

This is depsite of the fact that the wireless connection, speed and strength is still absolutely fine. Does the problem therefore lie with something in my laptop? ACER say it hasn't got anything to do with them and there's nothing wrong with the hardware.

Please advise if you think you can diagnose the problem and offer a solution!

Thanks

Have you tried connecting your lappy via ethernet, to rule out the wifi connection.
