Sync problem???

[link to this post]

Hey all, I'm a relative newbie and have had a look at various websites and think I've got a decent setup but I'm still having a few problems. I've got one of the NTE5 faceplate converters and a Netgear DG634G router. My PC is wired to the LAN ports. I've also disconnected the T3 wire in the back of the faceplate convertor.

Wihtout the faceplate connected and basic splitter in the test port I get (reported from the router stats page) a D/S Line Attenuation of approx 55db with Noise Margin approx 11db. When I connect the faceplate converter in the LA remains similar but the NM drops to about 3db.

My problem is that since I've installed the faceplate the connection seems to randomly kick out sometimes restarting immediately sometimes I have to leave it overnight!

Any ideas??? Thanks
Dave

Sounds like a faulty faceplate. Have you tried a different faceplate? You can get new ones on the internet.

Heres one I have http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/ShopDetail.asp?ProductID=3306 It only improved the line very marginally though.
