Poor Sky broadband Speeds

I have recently subscribed to Sky MAX, and I am getting 9mb on my wired connection, which is great, but on my wirless connection I am only geting 3mb. I have had a good search on here and have found one thread concerning this, talking about some setting I may be able to change, but to be honest I couldnt understand the instructions!! I have gone into the configuration for the network card ( which is a Broadcom 54g MaxPerformance 802.11g ) but see none of the settings suggested in the thread (http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=technical&Number=2877926&page=&view=&sb=&o= ). Is their an idiots guide I can follow that explains things in simple language, or is it just the case that wireless connections are slower than wired (My signal strength is very good).

I'd 1st establish what speed your wireless connection between PC and router is.
This should fairly easily to find in the wireless connection settings

Yes, its 54Mbps.

Try re-siting your wireless router. It's possible that your signal is of poor quality due to signal reflections, and you're clogging it up with packet retries. This can happen even when the signal strength is good.
