Authentication Failure

[link to this post]

Hello.

My broadband activation date was yesterday. I'm using the BT Home Hub. It is in sync at the minute (broadband light on) but is not connected to the internet.

When I look at the advanced section of the router it tells me that it is failing to connect because of authentication failure. I've tried [email protected] and my email username and [email protected] (and also tried them all with btbroadband.com). Still no joy. the one thing that does work is bt_test@startup_domain.

Trying to get it sorted but the idiots on the 'technical' helpdesk don't have a clue and keep fobbing me off with different excuses. Any ideas?

if [email protected] does not work, and bt_test@startup_domain does, I would suggest that either, the account has been incorrectly built, or you have been connected through the wrong DSL equipment in the exchange....sadly to fix this you are going to have to persist with dealing with the numpties on TS, insist that they call out a broadband trained engineer. *Just in case* you have tried with a different router, haven't you ?
