ADSL Filters

[link to this post]

Can anyone cast any light on the practical effect of not installing filters on a line activated for adsl?
I am about to order up adsl for a line, but suspect it may go live a day or so before the phones get adsl filters installed. The phones are old non-linebox versions with a hard wired alarm system using a dial up modem and the timing of BT changing them for a linebox is not guaranteed but I do not want to delay ordering the adsl service.
What I am concerned about is whether when the adsl is activated (eventhough the adsl router is not set up) it will cause any adverse effect to either voice calls or indeed the ability of the alarm's modem to dial up.
Anyone any experience of this?

As long as you don't plug in your modem/router, it will have no adverse effect at all.
