I recently (2nd April 07) transferred my ISP from Homecall-Pipex to BT. I transferred because of poor service & H-P's inability to deliver me an 'Up to 8mb' service.
As my new BT Home Hub router had not arrived at first I started out with my 'old' KCorps one. I went over to the Homehub when it arrived a couple of days later. However my IP profile has been exactly 2000 kbps ever since first connected by BT. Speed tester results have largely remained unchanged throughout, eg:
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 2000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1818 kbps
Router stats are below - are these good numbers? I live approx 1 mile from the exchange. BT Helpdesk came across as if they had never heard of a stuck profile & say 2000kbps is all my line can support. I hope someone can advise if this is a stuck profile &, if so, I'll get back onto BT? (OS is XP)
