Make ADSL Sync rate lower?

hi

my mate has adsl with sky and they seem to have stuck him on an ip profile that is too high for his line to handle causing frequent disconections and causing router to re-sync.

is there any software out there that can be used to lower the sync rate as he has tried to get sky to lower it but they ask him to check things such as the micro filters which its nothing to do with as he used to sync lower when it was stable, I think, on another ISP.

the DMT software will on certain routers allow a higher target SNR margin and hence a lower speed. dmt.mhilfe.de from memory. Look carefully for a version that matches the hardware.
