Re: Line Noise?

[re: equalityforall] [link to this post]

I don't know about your line but certainly interleaving allowed mine to be stable with the 8096 sync. On fastpath it would sometimes sync at 8128 but couldn't hold it for long.

I had had some problems with a Draytek 2600 which was absolutely crud on Max and earned me a 12dB target margin. I tried a couple of other routers and settled for a 585v6 I tweaked my target back to 6dB and realised that I needed interleave on - strangely the DLM hadn't turned it on but had just bumped up the target. At the time I was with AOL. After three fruitless calls attempting to get interleave turned on I migrated to UKFSN who got it done for me immediately after I migrated. I never looked back.

What you actually achieve on download is often down on the theortical max (about 7Mbps on 8Mbps sync) due to contention or deliberate throttling by the ISP
