SKY/Easynet Exchange

[link to this post]

Can someone tell me if there is a contact number for SKY/Easynet exchange. Since we've been on SKY, our connection has gone down 5 times. Today it was down ALL MORNING. I rang SKY but they could not answer this question. I even rang Easynet but they wash there hands of this responsibility as well. BT used to have a direct number you could phone to find out the status of the server. Is there one for SKY?

Urm Sky/Easynet do not have staff resident at the exchanges, it is remotely administered, and call centres should get updates on outages etc.

As for direct BT number, which secret number was this?

BT Yahoo Broadband Service Status number. 0800 169 0199

& URL

www.http://help.btinternet.com/yahoo/help/servicestatus/0,8411,Broadband_0_5_BTY_Home,00.html

There is nothing secret about it, I don't know what gave you that idea. I was just wondering whether there is a number for SKY or do they use the same Exchange Servers?

There are no servers in exchanges.

This tells you what is where - http://www.thinkbroadband.com/guide/howitworks/

The only contact you have to discuss line problems is the tech support number for your ISP. They will liase with BT OpenReach who look after the line (and probably the Sky DSLAM although I'm not certain on that but whoever it is the ISP sorts it.

And what exactly will BT Yahoo know about the Sky LLU kit? Nothing

BT has many facets and BT Retail has no access to the Sky hardware or its condition. That number is a general BT Retail faults number the same way as

The normal Sky telephone support line is the one to telephone for Sky broadband issues. Sky for most of its products has its own hardware in the exchanges, hence why their prices so different to BT Yahoo/BT Total
