how long does it really take to clear tags?

[link to this post]

Dear All,

Recently Tiscali in error or madness disconnected my broadband service. Now they say they have to finish doing this before they can set me up again. i.e. they have to take off the tags, clear the line and start again. And they say they can't hurry things up because it's up to BT Wholesale to do this bit, and it'll take ten days to happen.

Could Tiscali hurry things up if they wanted to? And if so, how?
Or could BT Wh hurry things up if they wanted to?

Would it be quicker to switch to another provider?

I'd love to know

I thiink a tag takes no more that 48 hours to clear. The rest is probably the standard lead time from placing an activation order to completion.

Thanks for that, Rogan8.

If you're right re. this standard lead time, is there any way to hurry either of them up?

Without a gun to the head? No chance with Tiscali! They played this game with me a few moons ago.

its so long ago now I can barely remember, but I do remember very faintly that when bulldog tagged my line and then didnt do the order, I rang up BT who cleared the line whilst I was on the phone and I think I remember been told I was very lucky as that was not normal procedure.
