My Downstream has dropped massively

[link to this post]

Hi,

I have an 8mb ADSL package. My downstream has dropped massively in the past 3 days and now my router only connects somewhere between 160 to 960kbps. As a result my IP Profile has dropped to 130kbps.

.....................Downstream.........Upstream
Line Attenuation: 56db......31db
Noise Margin: 12.7db.......14db

For the past 4 years I have been getting at least 3500kbps. Nothing has changed with my set-up and Pipex have done a line test and say nothing is wrong with the line. So I don't know what to do next? If I had hair I would have pulled it out.

I have tried new router, ADSL filters and cables. I don't have an NTE5 master socket to try the test socket.

Pipex say to give it three days and it should recover but I think they are fobbing me off as it's been 3 days and they've done nothing their end to fix it.

Does this kind of thing happen a lot for no reason? Does downstream just go back up by itself? I'm worried my internet is now permanently at this level frown

Dave
