Any room for speed improvement??? O2 24mb adsl+2

[link to this post]

Just wondered if anyone can see anything obvious or have any idea to speed an o2 24mb line up??

DSL Connection

Link Information

Uptime: 4 days, 16:02:42
DSL Type: G.992.5 Annex M US 56
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 2,234 / 20,866
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/GB]: 68.64 / 1.50
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 13.0 / 18.0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 9.0 / 16.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.5 / 7.0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / BDCM
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 8 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 8 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 82 / 44,305
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 82 / 31
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 16,679 / 30

Are errors normal or is there some thing else a drift?

thanks all and everyone

Besides the normal internal aspect not really.

Your on a short line and have a good SNR on the 6dB default profile.

I Did'nt notice if interleaving was on or not that might give you a little more if its on *now* and you get it switched off. It might also break what you have...

I'd be happy with your stats myself and wouldn't worry about the extra little bit.

You have an excellent connection - long uptime on the O2 box, low errors and max. sync for that attenuation. Best not to fiddle with it ! smile
Just out of interest, what download speeds do you get on this site in wireless mode ?
I am curious to know if you can get more than 10 Mb/s via wireless.
Thanks

thank you for the answers, amazing that it is seen as fast and reliable !!!

anyway will not mess about if that is the best it will be... for now, the short distance is 730m approx so guess that is almost living next to slam panel!

the approx wireless is way in excess of 10mbs, will run a few checks and post back, not too sure if that actual line is interleaved or not so will check that too...

this is a clients line so any speed increase across their network at exchange level or wireless will always help smile

anyone else have any thoughts ?

thx

The line is interleaved as you have FEC errors. The FEC errors count is actually the number of packets which were corrupted but have been corrected by the interleave process.

On fast path (the alternative to interleaved) those FEC errors would likely have been real CRC errors.

I suppose you could ask for fast path and quantify the extra speed and extra errors. You could revert to interleaved if necessary.

That's one of the downsides of O2 in that they don't do fastpath - not an issue though for the likes of me and you wink

That rather simplifies the OP's decision then!
