Hello everyone
I've just bought a property in Inverness-shire. There is currently no telephone service (it has been stopped) although there is a telephone line in place.
The property is about 1 mile by road away from the Dalchreichart exchange (NSDCR) in one direction and about 8 miles by road from the Glenmoriston exchange (NSGMT) in the other.
My neighbours - directly next door - are connected to the Glenmoriston exchange and get a fixed speed of 512k ADSL. I'm sure that the available speed would be much higher if I could be connected to the closer Dalchrichert exchange, though.
Is there any way to have the telephone line re-routed to the closer exchange? Who would I have to contact within BT to find out about this? I will otherwise have to get satellite broadband in order to work effectively from home since 512k isn't fast enough for the stuff I have to do.
Many thanks for any advice.
