Sync Speed vs Actual Speed

[link to this post]

Hi all,

I've got a problem with my o2 broadband. I just got connected yesterday but i'm experiencing really low downstream speeds (was expecting around 3mb).

The sync speed through the router seem to be fine (around 4000 - 4500 kbps) but the actual down speed i'm getting and checked with bt speedtester was only around 500kbps.

With four people in the house using the connection, its way too slow for us.

i'm not sure if its a problem with o2's modem/router becuase the BT line seems to be working and wired perfectly fine. At the moment i'm the only one connected to the line using a wired connection and still i'm getiing the low down speed.

any suggestions?

Thanks a lot

Tush

Have you used the btspeedtester to get an indication of your current IP profile?

Is this the IPStream or LLU product? If it's the former, as suggested earlier, run the BT Performance Tester and post the results here.
