First off im not using a router...
But for some reason my lease connection keeps dropping and when i look at the IP Lease time its changed after the connection drop.
Virgin claim theres no problems what so ever and its totally random when it happens, for example i could have no problems all day then maybe 3 at nite..
Could it be a Windows error and if so how do i repair it?.

Are you sure it's not just the IP address lease being renewed (which should be transparent to you apart from the new lease time). Are there any other symptoms? What precisely do you mean by connection dropping?

i get a lease time of 10 days so i dont think its that.
What happens is my connection freezes, in network and sharing center i then take a look at the connection and theres no connection between network and the internet.
When i then do an IPconfig /all command i see that my lease time again has been renewed even though each time i get a 10 day lease.

I think that is the cable modem..

Assuming that you're using a cable connection from VM.. Do they still limit the modem to one MAC at a time?
Have you swapped around the hardware when you have been testing this without rebooting the modem? You might have to do this so it flushes the MAC address table on the modem.

tried 2 different ethernet cards that have different Mac addresses.
also tried a laptop instead of my PC.

Have you rebooted the CM after changing the connected ethernet device? Not sure if they still only allow one MAC at a time.
