attenuation drop

ok today i moved from bt upto 8meg with an attenuation of 26.6

now im on o2 premium syncing at 17,234kbps and an attenuation of 15.0

is it normal for the attenuation to drop like this ?

No, it's not normal. It's normal for the attenuation to increase on ADSL2+ not decrease. You may have had a faulty tie-pair which was replaced when you moved to LLU.

sounds right because i always knew im only like 1.5km from the exchange by road and that accounts for the line bouncing round the whole estate too

Your downstream attenuation has actually increased to 28dB, as expected with ADSL2+.

stupid me i read it backwards

FEC errors you can ignore as they are errors that have actually been fixed by interleaving. The others are negligible for the up time.
