NO ADSL coonection to Internet
Out of the blue I have started having the following problem - any ideas to fix much appreciated.
I have a Belkin modem/router which I use for wireless home network. Over the last few days I have been unable to connect to the Internet - the Router home page shows the connection from the adaptor (ie PC to router) is OK, but the router isn't talking/connecting to the web.
I have tried everything to resolve including swapping the router, the filters, checking all the settings, checked phones worked, even talking to the ISP without a resolution.
Then later in the evening/night all of a sudden the connection works fine - next day no connection - repeat again and again.
I have 2 notebooks, a desktop and a PDA all of which I have tested with same results as above. I have a 3G card on 1 notebook which works fine (as expected as not using the house phone line or the router).
Thanks for any feedback (and happy Xmas to all)
BB

Modem is Belkin model FSD7632-4. The modem setup tool doesn't display connection data as per your request. I don't know how else to get this for you - sorry!

Are any of your computers connected to the router by ethernet cable?
If not what happens if you try a wired connection between the router and PC?
|
|
|
|
As a general rule not connected via ethernet cable.
Making such a connection doesn't help.

Have you tried re-entering your Talktalk username and password?

Modem is Belkin model FSD7632-4....
The Belkin F5D series is known to be problematical. Can you substitute with a known good router?

Thanks - but I had already tested with another router with the same result.
Given the symptoms I don't see how it can be the actual router which is at fault, and given its 4 years good continuous service to date.
Cheers BB
