It probably means the end node isn't responding to pings. See if your version of traceroute has a -I or similar option to use ICMP echo style pings.

It means you're in the Czech Republic

212.58.253.68 is the BBC homepage, but does look as if the OP is being routed via Prague (Praha) Czech Republic; no idea why frown

Very logical !!

Because the post is in this forum, I 'assumed' she/he was UK based.

But....as the saying goes; ASSUME makes an ASS out of U and ME blush

Should know better by now. frown

Tell's me its fine within .cz

5 rt-decix.fft.bbc.co.uk (80.81.192.59) 25.403 ms 25.799 ms 25.377 ms
6 ntl-ge2-8.prt0.thdo.bbc.co.uk (212.58.239.217) 25.571 ms 25.144 ms 25.607 ms

Tells me it slows down once you hand off to the BBC's peer - but nothing 'bad' about those times.

Tell's me the last node won't reply to udp probe - as others have said try trace route using ICMP.

Looks OK to me.
