LCP is allowed to come up

[link to this post]

Hi, I'm having a few problems with my connection and thought theres anything else I can try.
Basilcy friday morning I noticed my speed had droped quite a bit running some speed tests showd the connection was running at 43 Kbps according to BTs speed tester which recomended doing some more testing. I was unable to connect using the [email protected] or bt_test_user@startup_domain users.
I've been unable to connect since.

I've tryed a 2nd modem which does the same thing. Both connect at 8Mbs

My main router stats are (full stats below)
Connection Speed 8128 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 29.0 db 14.5 db
Noise Margin 10.4 db 23.0 db

Ive reported it and is being investigated but i was wondering if there was anything else I can check.

Thanks
Dan

Have you tried plugging your router into the test socket within your BT master socket? See http://www.dslzoneuk.net/socket.php?type=html

This may rule in/out your internal wiring as the source of the problem.

What IP profile was reported when you did the BT speed test?

Something very wrong there, odd that it will not connect to bt_test@startup_domain, but will still do a BT Wholesale speed test. You ask in another thread, what the SFI engineer will do. A pair quality test, a test of sync rate/errors/stabilty but will generally not be looking at throughput speeds, unless theres shed loads of errors shown on their test kit. I'm sure you already have, but have you tried a different router ?

HI, I did the speed test beforeI changes the username to do the extra testing requested by the speedtester.
Since then I've not managed to get a connection although im connected to the exchange.
I have used another modem with no luck.

I assume if they have the same problem with not being able to connect they'll go and give the kit in the exchange a kick or is that then handed to some one else?

leave it off for 20 minutes then have another go, might be a stuck session. Sometimes flipping to PPPoE shifts this type of thing too.
