I've been trying to solve this for ages now and can't get this done on my Draytek Vigor.
I'm going insane and would appreciate any help.
-ISP connection uses:
-Protocol: RFC 2684 Bridged
-Framing: LLC/SNAP
-VPI/VCI: 0/100
-Handshake protocol: ADSL2+
-IP addresses for client: 5 dynamic PUBLIC IPs (via DHCP)
-So absolutely no ppoa/ppoe here (this is not an Aussie ISP)
I have a separate router. I want Vigor 120 to do pure modem duties (i.e. bridging) with NO routing, NO dhcp and NO NAT.
So, essentially I want Vigor 120 configured as (Vigor settings page):
Internet Access: MPoA (RFC1483/2684)
MPoA (RFC1483/2684): ENABLE
Multi-PVC channel: Channel 2 (does this matter??)
VPI: 0
VCI: 100
RIP Protocol: OFF (disable)
Bridge mode / Enable Bridge Mode: ON
WAN IP Network settings: greyed out when Bridge Mode is enabled
DNS Server IP Address: the ip addresses of my ISP primary/secondary DNS servers
LAN / Generic Setup
DHCP: Disable Server
However, if I use these settings, I can never make the "Internet" light on the Vigor 120 light up.
Also, any clients attached to Vigor 120 will not get an IP from Vigor (they should get a public IP from the ISP as Vigor120 is doing pure bridging).
If I *disable* the Bridge mode, then I can make Vigor120 get connection to ISP ("Internet" led lights up) and IF I additionally enable the Vigor 120 dhcp server, then I can access the internet from my clients as Vigor handles them 192.168.x.x private IP addresses.
However, making Vigor 120 to do pure bridged mode under RFC1483 seems to be impossible.
Has anybody actually managed this?
I'm ready to chuck this modem out of the window as I have a much more capable router that I want to use instead of using Vigor120 as a router.
I'm running the latest fw 3.2.44, but have tried to earlier versions as well with same results.
Also, powering down after saving the settings has not helped either.
I also contacted Draytek Support and they mailed back "it should work", but it does not.
Any help appreciated.
