Is your sync rate around 12Mbps?

Certainly seems to be a discrepancy. What speeds are you getting from non-test sites?

I mean why bother with speed test sites if you don't notice any speed problems downloading?

Ours is single threaded, which can be affected by some ISP's.

If downloads work out at 8Meg over time, then probably not contention.

It may be the router to tbb is congested, a raft of test files at http://www.thinkbroadband.com/download.html

Try downloading two or more at once, compared to just doing one.

Is that multiple test files at once? Or just a single file?

Change NIC?

Network Interface Card is what I take that to mean.

Or if you mean change forum username (nick) then you need to use another email address, one nick per email address
