ADSL Drop on Phone Ring

[link to this post]

All,

Before you all run off to tell me it's the ring (bell) wire... this is disconnected for the Master Socket.

I'm getting ADSL reset every time the phone rings. I'm considering asking Xilo to get BT to call in as it's doing my nut in.

Cheers
Matt

Are all the phones filtered? It's often filter problems, try changing them.

I've just had that in the last couple of weeks! Especially when it rains.

I was happy all my kit/wiring was right.
My provider Freeola (EntaNet) tested the line and could see a fault.

BT changed my dropwire and incoming calls no longer cause problems (error rates/SNRM stable).

All we found were a couple of very small nicks in the insulation but obviously enough to let the water in.

It hasn't really rained since so I'm not 100% sure all my problems are sorted but things are much better.

Assuming you've tried running with the router plugged into the Test Socket and you still get the problem, it sounds like a high resistance connection somewhere on the line. (What the BT engineers like to call an "HR Dis")

John.
