Router Interferes with DECT phone

Hi,
I have a Netgear DG 843G ver 4 Router ethernet wired wireless disabled.when using my Panasonic dect phone I get annoying levels of line hiss, when I turn off the router the problem disappears. Is it a good idea to turn off the router when I'm not using my pc? I have been told that doing this interferes with the BT exchange and will affect my BB .
advice please.
I have changed all filters and my base station is downstairs away from the pc.

You could try changing the channel that the wireless uses. Preferably the furthest away from what it is now to try and minimise interferance.

OP states the wireless is disabled on the router.

More likely culprit is the power supply / wall wart for the router is electrically noisy.

Not easy to cure really as the router power supply is naturally somewhere near the phone line as a matter of course.

Does the same problem occur using a wired phone rather than your dect phone?

try two filters in series on the DECT phone. Some of them are very sensitive to ADSL.

Try Yarwell's suggestion for 'double filtering'. Otherwise, can you get a decent faceplate filter instead ?

routers can fail, and give noise on the line,
if possible try a different router.
