How do you change Nat Type.Netgear DG834N Router

Does anyone know or could list simple intructions on how to change Nat type on router so both my Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 displays type 2 and not Moderate.

I have heard for that TYPE2 is the way to go and its a better online experience,i have noticed that when playing games just recently and my nat type being Moderate that seem a little laggy and my connection bar is not to clever.

Before when i ran connection tests on both consoles it displayed Type 2 and now for some strange reason i am getting Moderate setting and some cases a message saying that voice and the fact i can not host games may be a problem.

Have you got Upnp turned on the router?
Do you have both consoles as static ip addresses in the router?

Which console do you play the most of, because most games on the ps3 have different ports which have to be openend on each game, where as the 360 only need a few ports open.

The easy way is to put the ip of the ps3 in to the dmz of the netgear, or use port forwarding.

Cheers mate.............Funny when i did another connection test the other night the playstation 3 said the Nat Type was 2 and other times it says moderate.

I don't have that router now but I think it's in the WAN section.

Perhaps I've never played those games, but never had an issue with NAT and Xbox live or PS3 and never needed to configure any port forwards.

Nor me, it's an excellent modem/router (apart from the issue of the wireless re-setting/dropping at midnight).
The odd re-boot usually sorts out any nat issues if they do occur.

When i run a test on the Playstation 3 the test says that Nat Type is Type 2,but when i am in the multiplayer Lobby for the game Crysis 2 at the bottom it says Nat Type Moderate.................Go figure ?

Unless this is just the game Crysis then i dont really understand why it says Type 2 and Moderate in game.

I actually play the Playstation 3 the most and yes i have upnp turned on in the router,i have not manually set anything and it may just be a laggy connection to the game in question Crysis 2.

Any free port forwarding problems apart from the pfconfig which you have to pay for and i found it pretty useless when i purchased it once.

Done a Vista reinstall so i have lost a few things.......
