ppoa and ppoe

would some one please exspalin the the diffrence between ppoa and vc mux
and ppoe and llc snap briddging in basic please
as by right i should be using ppoa but with this i have drop out and reconection problems requiring router restart to reconect
but with ppoe everything works fine but should not be using this and my isp say this is not ther required setting and should not work,any help greatly required

Which ISP are you using, and is it LLU or BT-based? BT dslams often work on both pppoa and pppoe which the ISP wouldn't be aware of.

I don't think Plusnet know or care if you're using PPPOA or PPPOE.
