Quick extension cabling question...

Just sorting out my brother's Broadband connection - he's been running BT Total Option 1 for some time with a download (sync) speed of 1888 (was a 2M fixed speed connection originally). I've just plugged the homehub into the test socket and got a download sync speed of 5696 - so I deduce a cabling issue:

The master socket has one extension fed off it - with all 6 cores connected - which matches the extension end (Gr, Bl, Or, Gr/W, Bl/W, Or/W) Am I right in thinking this is probably the cause and that only the Bl & Bl/W cores should be connected (to pins 2 & 5)?

S/N: 6/23

Should just be 2 & 5. I'd remove the others carefully and wrap some insulating tape around them in case they are needed in the future.

Thanks for confirming that - I'll get a Krone tool in case of emergencies and have go in due course. It's running fine from the test socket at present so no rush! (No phones on the line, it's used only for broadband)
