Connection stats/time up

I have been having a lot of issues with dropping connections etc (am currently waiting for visit from engineer). I need some sort of monitoring software so that I can see how long my connection has been up and also if possible how many times the connection has dropped in a given period. My old router used to give me time up stats but my current router (Belkin) doesn't so I have no way of knowing whether my connection has remained stable.
Running Vista and Windows 7 (depending on which computer I install monitor)
