Linksys WAG325N very low speed over network cable

I have the Linksys WAG325N router but I have a problem of the traffic over the network cable. My issue is the speed is very slow as instead of 10MB/s is working at 1MB/s or lower. Now I would like to know where the problem lies as on all my computers in my house have installed Windows 7. I did not install the software included in the package.

Any solution about it? My router is set on RFC 1483 Bridged ,modulation ADSL2+, and static IP.

Are you talking about speeds just within your local network, not over the Internet, as you seem to expect speeds of 80 M bits per sec? B = Byte, b= bit is very important!

Post your router stats and we'll know what your really on about.

My router is 10/100 Base-T and I cannot expect speed of 80MB of it but with the O2 router is working at a speed around 10-12 MB/s on my network and not over the Internet. With this WAG 325N router I can go up to 1MB/s instead 10MB/s.

You still don't get it! You insist on talking about Bytes per sec, when speeds are measured in bits per sec. Until you post router stats, of both routers it is now apparent, we can't help you.

Sorry!! I get used to work just in bytes and not bites. Ok the problem is as all you stated should be around 80 mbit to 100 mbit but the Linksys WAG 325 is working with the maximum speed of 8 mbit. I want to use the Linksys to use it instead of the O2 router as I cannot portforward a port through the O2 router.

What is the LAN connection speed shown in windows (Networking Sharing Centre/Lan Connection)? Presumably at least one of the PC's is connecting at 10Mbit/s instead of 100Mbits.

Ok I put back my router and I put by mistake in the 4th port from 4 by mistake and I checked the speed shown in Windows and it was 100 mbit/s and is working perfectly at the normal speed but after I changed to the port 1 as I love the computers to be in a certain order in my router and I checked the speed in Windows again and I saw is at 10 mbit/s. Afterwards I went to the pc which I connected that cable to the port 1 and the Windows shows me the speed of 10 mbit/s, that means is a faulty port.

......and/or the cable. Check/clean the contacts on the plugs each end

The cable works fine on the 4th port but when I connect to the 1st port it shows me 10Mbit/s. I wander if can be from the pins from the routers connector?
