Which Cabinet?

Not sure if this has been asked before or if this is the right forum -
How do I find out if I am connected directly to the exchange or to a cabinet and if the latter, which cabinet?

you may as well just use the FTTC postcode checker to see if your area is enabled or imminent, and the line checker to see if you can order a service.

It might be interesting, but there's nothing to be gained by micromanaging the detail as there's not a lot you can do if the answer is one you don't want to hear.

The is a postcode cabinet spreadsheet leaked some months ago on the internet, if you post your postcode someone might look it up for you. If its a recently announced exchange then you're back to my comments above.

Also (sorry if I missed it!) where does the OP mention FTTC?

Ain't necessarily so. Worked on a EO line the other day, 8.25k.
You'd have needed two less hills and a set of binoculars to see the exchange from that house.

Wow. That's mad. I always thought that EO lines were really short. Obviously not.

wow, thats a long cable run if it is faulty. Would not want the copper stealers to nick that line, they would need a very large truck.

I have an E.O. line approx 6Kms.

No FTTC, slow speeds rule.

What are your sync speeds??? Am curious as I'm about 4km cable length via a cab...

Can vary but not by much, sometimes reach a high of 1800kbs down.
