Hopefully someone can help. I am 2 floors above the router in an office. But even when I have my pc side by side with my laptop the laptop gets speeds an internet speed 4 or 5 times faster than the desktop.
I have been using Dlan duo on the pc but brought a wireless n card, and for some reason the speeds are exactly the same, roughly 2mb. Whereas the laptop wireless often gets speeds of 8-10mb in exactly the same spot. I am using BE internet.
Was wondering if maybe there is a setting on the pc slowing it down, as I cannot for the life of me understand this discrepancy. One final note if i have the laptop downloading next to my pc it makes no difference to my pc's internet speed.
Any help would be much appreciated.
