Varying speeds and high HEC

Hello

I've suffered from disconnections (now stabilised), but my speeds vary, especially in the evening - they're usually around 5-6Mbps, whereas in the mornings, they're 16Mpbs. Also, the router reports a lot of HEC errors, which, I wonder, is a mistake? This value hasn't changed over the past few days. I'd be grateful for any comments.

I'd ignore the HEC count. Almost certainly misreporting by the router.

Slowdown in the evening is likely to be contention with other users, i.e. more people are using the internet in the evenings.

Some ISPs are better than others.
