data link falure

My broadband will be stable for some time and then suddenly I am unable to do anything
cannot ping the router ipconfig shows as disconeccted media
This happen with 2 laptops and my phone 1 win xp 1 win 7 and an android phone
I have tried 4 different roouters a thompson 2 netgear and a belkin
I have replaced all cables and filters in the house
my isp plusnet say there is no fault and say I am still connected to them when it all fails
I have run out of ideas can anyone help please

Is there any pattern to the problem? e.g. if it happens every half hour it may be a setting timing out.
