Different speed estimate on TalkTalk W/sale than BTw or Sky

To late to ring some ISP's tonight, but as in all my other posts I am trying to keep off 'profile'sytems when I leave o2.

So looking at other sellers, those who do TalkTalk wholesale quote estimate of 3.5, max 4750. even TT own site quotes 1.9-4.7 ave 3.5. So not knowing much about TT what sytem do they use that can appear to push more down the line?

FTR, on o2 LLu atten is 55, ave sync 5600 adsl1profile, 6200adsl2+ profile, , BTW estimate 2meg (1.5-3meg) and everyone else (Sky 0.9-1.9, av1!!!), but even on AAISP which quote both BTW and TT, on TT's own website estimate is 1.9-4.7. av 3.5! Out of interest put in a friends no. and got this, 8.8Mb -18.7Mb ave 15.3, BTW - 7-11 av 12.5!

Any Ideas? Jo Average would go with TT just on figure alone, by the way will not go on TT domestic,

On ADSL1 or ADSL2+? ADSL2+ Attn. usually ADSL1 Attn. + 3dB. Either way you are getting extremely high syncs on O2, unless you have tweaked the NM down a lot. Would expect about 4 Meg @ 6dB NM on ADSL2+.

In any case ignore all those estimates. They have no idea of your line's actual BB history. They are only estimates after all. The best predictor is your actual attenuation and your experience on O2 ADSL2+.

No tweaking as is, yes on 2+ the atten was 58. All UG to exch. Cheers.

the estimates are just that, your modem and the exchange will do what they can regardless. Estimates are not a reason to differentiate between suppliers, as the OFCOM research proved (ISPs giving the wrong data for a line).
