WiFi connectionfrom router to mobile phone?

My ADSL broadband service has failed and I have reported the problem.

I recently acquired an Android mobile phone and have found that the WiFi hotspot facility to be very good, much better than the Bluetooth facility of my previous Nokia phone. The Wifi connection just works, getting the Bluetooth connection to work was always a challenge.

My desktop PC has a wired connection to my WiFi enabled Technicolor 582n modem/router.

Is there anyway anyway my desktop computer can connect to the internet via the 582n and then by Wifi to the mobile phone?

Not that I am aware of without extra hardware

Other devices with an Ethernet port and wireless repeater mode that are cheaper may or MAY NOT do the same.

You could buy a cheap and cheerful wifi dongle for your desktop (Amazon shows them from £2.99) you could then connect to your Android wifi hotspot on this and other devices

That made me think and yes had seen a wireless Ethernet bridge that was fairly cheap

At £19 not as cheap as your option, but needs no drivers on the PC, and easy power via USB port.

That looks like a useful bit of kit - and a good price.

Perhaps TBB should get one for a review?

That is quite interesting. At the moment I am using a Belkin WiFi dongle in my desktop PC. It is a few years old and it would appear that the drivers are poor.

A BT voice man came today but although he corrected one joint in the cable, he did not fix my broadband problem.
